On Tuesday, December 10th, the Millennial Action Project hosted the second annual Rising Star Awards. It took place at the Darlington House, located at 1610 20th St NW in Washington, DC. During this event we heard from board member Nick Maschari, and we announced the winners of this year’s Rising Star Award: Oregon State Rep. Julie Fahey, Wisconsin State Rep. Adam Neylon, and Wisconsin State Rep. Amanda Stuck.
The Rising Star Awards highlight the accomplishments and contributions of young leaders within MAP's State Future Caucus Network over the last year. The 2019 Awardees have demonstrated a commitment to working with MAP, bipartisan leadership ability, measurable outcomes, and embody the MAP Ethos of open-mindedness, respect, collaboration, problem solving, and initiative. (Pictured below are the awardees. From left to right, Rep. Fahey, Rep. Neylon, and Rep. Stuck.) Also, check out their phenomenal speeches below their photo!
In addition, we were pleased to be joined by MAP Board of Directors member, Nick Maschari (pictured below) who delivered the keynote speech at this event. Nick has been a key supporter of MAP since its beginning, and we were inspired to hear about MAP’s development through his perspective. He spoke about his work at MAP and how far he’s seen MAP come in his three years of engagement.
