The Rising Star awardees are just two examples of a trend we see throughout the country. Each of these crosspartisan wins build on top of one another. It makes the next win that much more possible. We’re creating a healthy civic flywheel between young people and the young elected leaders working on their behalf.

The Millennial Action Project (MAP) announced last week the awardees of the 2022 Rising Star Awards. The Rising Star Awards recognize lawmakers who embody MAP’s mission to transcend political polarization through public service.

February is Black History Month — a time where we celebrate the accomplishments and triumphs of the Black community throughout American history. It is also a call to action, asking all Americans to be a part of the conversation about the pursuit of freedom and racial equity. These conversations can be challenging — as we know, in the United States, partisan and racial divides are complex.

Last Thursday, Dec. 9, in Washington, D.C., the Millennial Action Project (MAP), the largest nonpartisan organization of Millennial elected officials in the U.S., presented the 2021 Rising Star Award to Connecticut State Rep. Devin Carney (R-23rd) and Arkansas State Rep. Jamie Scott (D). Carney’s District includes the Towns of both Lyme and Old Lyme.

On December 9th, 2021, in Washington, D.C., the fourth annual Rising Star Award will be presented to Arkansas State Representative Jamie Scott (D) and Connecticut State Representative Devin Carney (R). Both representatives are co-chairs of the Future Caucus in their respective states.

The Millennial Action Project, the largest nonpartisan organization of millennial elected officials in the U.S., awarded young state lawmakers from across the country for their work to bridge partisan divides in American politics.

This award recognizes bipartisan legislators from our State Future Caucus Network who have embodied MAP's mission to transcend political tribalism.

Three legislators with records of bipartisanship and collaboration were given the second round of Rising Star awards on Tuesday night by the Millennial Action Project, a nonpartisan group that aims to boost those two characteristics among younger people in public life.

The winners are Oregon State Representative Julie Fahey, Wisconsin State Representative Adam Neylon, and Wisconsin State Representative Amanda Stuck. Each of these representatives are co-chairs of the Future Caucus in their respective states.

The Millennial Action Project will host the second annual Rising Star Awards at the Darlington House in Washington, DC. During this event we will hear from a special keynote speaker, and we will be announcing the winners of this year's Rising Star Award.
