If you believe the 24-hour news cycle or the pundits pontificating on social media, we are as polarized politically as we can possibly be and every issue leads to gridlock. Layla Zaidane believes differently, and she has good reason to.

“Meeting in Middle America”
MAP released a podcast, “Meeting in Middle America,” in collaboration with UW-Milwaukee and WisPolitics. It features local young elected officials, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who are willing to bridge partisan divides.
Wisconsin — and particularly the greater Milwaukee area — was a key battleground in the 2020 presidential election. “When we talk about Middle America, we talk about a region that is at the crossroads of the future of our country. You have powerful trends taking root here that matter to the very idea of America. This is a moment we need to hear from the people behind those trends,” Olikara said.
