During the 2016 Capitol Forum hosted by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), MAP hosted a dessert reception at Bar Civitas in partnership with NCSL's Young and New Professionals (YNP). The event provided a space for young legislators and staff to connect, share ideas, and develop lasting connections among the community of legislators under 40. MAP welcomed state representatives from across the country, ranging from Nebraska, Rhode Island, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania among others.

MAP State Caucus Director Cherisse Eatmon provided remarks, welcoming guests and informing them about the State Future Caucus Network. The reception served as a platform to amplify young state legislators' voices, and united the attendees by their enthusiasm and age, rather than by party.
