On February 24th MAP and MASA hosted their first networking happy hour event of 2021, On and Off the Hill: Networking in the 117th. This event consisted of two parts: a panel of former Hill staffers who shared their anecdotes, lessons learned, and next steps for those in transition in and out of member offices; followed by a breakout networking session.  

Our panel participants included:

• Mike McCabe, The Keelen Group, LLC

• Elizabeth Barczak, Legislative Counsel for Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH)

• Clayton Swope, Amazon National Security Public Policy 

After the panel, participants broke out into smaller groups for informal conversation and follow up discussion. We used a new platform, Remo, which allowed attendees to move around a virtual "conference room" with ease to get the most out of this virtual event. We look forward to using Remo again for future virtual networking events so staffers may have a more organic experience getting to know each other — even when calling in from different states!
