ABOUT THE EVENT

On Monday, September 26, 2016Party Politics US and the Millennial Action Project (MAP) hosted a debate watch party for the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.  The event brought together participants for a lively discussion about the current political environment. MAP and Party Politics co-hosted the event with a shared interest in elevating bipartisan discourse during this year’s particularly divisive election

Prior to the debate, MAP Co-Founder and President, Steven Olikara and Atiba Madyun, Party Politics US’ Campaign Director and Founder, led a panel discussion featuring Rachel Hoff, Director of Defense Analysis at the American Action Forum, and Symone D. Sanders, CNN Political Commentator and former National Press Secretary for the Bernie Sanders campaign. The panel explored the state of politics for American young people and look ahead to November's election.

At the event, guests were also able to interact with several pieces of rare historical memorabilia from Janay Smith of the the Jock Michael Smith Sports Collection - the largest collection of game-worn authenticated sports memorabilia in the country. Janay kicked off the event with remarks exploring the intersection of young sports figures and our national discourse.
