On Thursday March 16th, MAP COO Layla Zaidane participated as a guest speaker in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) at the Institute of International Education (IIE). The IVLP is a short-term professional development program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State for foreign leaders to examine their professional work in an American context. This includes meeting with their American counterparts in Washington and throughout the United States to engage in thoughtful conversation and knowledge exchange.
Layla spoke during with international visitors from the Near East and North Africa region entitled Young Leaders RISE: Renew Inspire, Serve and Empower. During the conversation, she provided an overview of how MAP works directly with young policymakers at the national and state levels to spur bipartisan legislation and policy solutions; as well as led a discussion of key policy issues including entrepreneurship, technology, 21st century skills training, immigration and volunteerism.
