On Thursday, October 21st, Connecticut Future Caucus Co-Chairs Rep. John-Michael Parker and Sen. Paul Cicarella, and caucus member Rep. Jennifer Leeper took part in a monthly conversation series hosted by the Hartford Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs (HYPE) Civic Engagement Committee.
The young legislators talked about actions the Future Caucus is taking to help young business leaders thrive in Connecticut, and about the Millennial Action Project’s (MAP) mission to activate young leaders to bridge the partisan divide. They discussed how Connecticut’s Future Caucus is working towards policy over politics and representing young people across the political spectrum in the legislature.
ogether, they spoke about how the caucus frequently meets and strategizes on information campaigns to encourage young people to combat the spread of coronavirus, their participation on the main stage at our 2021 Future Summit, and how they successfully passed legislation like SB975, a bipartisan bill that strengthens the rights of long-term care residents.
These legislators exemplify MAP’s commitment to building a movement that prioritizes opportunity and improvement over partisanship. If you want to have the Future Caucus in your state attend your event, contact us at info@millennialaction.org!
