On Wednesday, January 19, the Millennial Action Project, alongside the Kauffman Foundation and the Kansas Future Caucus, hosted a roundtable for Millennial business leaders to share their experiences and discuss the resources that they need from legislators.

On Tuesday, September 22nd, the 30th MAP State Future Caucus was launched in Oklahoma. The launch consisted of a brief press conference in which the new Oklahoma Future Caucus’ co-chairs described how they came to learn about the State Future Caucus Network and why they believed that Oklahoma was ripe ground for a new SFC.
On August 7, 2020, the Millennial Action Project (MAP) hosted the 4th annual Future Summit. This year’s Summit was both MAP’s first virtual summit and largest, with a bipartisan group of 65 legislators from 34 different states in attendance.

The Mississippi Future Caucus continues to work towards a culture of political cooperation in the great State of Mississippi. During MAP’s first ever National Week of Post-Partisan Action (NWPA), the MS Future Caucus filed a resolution acknowledging their commitment to transcend tribalism and lead on issues critical to the future of the state.
On January 27th, Millennial Action Project and the Millennial Action Staff Association (MASA) held the first Millennial Mondays lunch of 2020. Millennial Mondays is a lunch series that invites staffers from both parties to network, socialize, and share information on the latest bills that they have been working on. This gives them a chance to build interest and create the coalitions needed to push legislation forward.
On December 10th, the Millennial Action Project partnered with Congressional Future Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH-16) to host a roundtable discussion on combating child exploitation imagery online. The roundtable included a panel of experts and advocates engaged with this issue from various perspectives, including nonprofit advocates, law enforcement, and technologists.
On Wednesday, November 13, Iowa Future Caucus Co-Chairs Sen. Zach Wahls (D) and Rep. Joe Mitchell (R), came together for an event hosted by ImpactCR. Area young professionals took part in a bipartisan discussion focusing on the dysfunctional political climate in the United States and opportunities for overcoming the divisiveness through bipartisan leadership.
On October 26th and 27th, Millennial Action Project Founder and President Steven Olikara traveled to Nashville to participate in Politicon, an annual event that brings together some of the most recognizable and influential names in politics to discuss and debate the most prominent current political issues. Olikara participated in four separate panels, acting as a moderator for some of the marquee pairings that convened at the event.
On Tuesday, October 22, Millennial Action Project (MAP) partnered with the Brookings Institution to host a morning of programming dedicated to better understanding how Millennials think and engage around two long-term issues: climate change and the national debt. Spearheaded by Brookings Economics Studies fellow Dr. Stuart Butler, the event brought together leading members of the academic, political and nonprofit communities to discuss Millennial attitudes towards these issues, and explore what can be done to drive action going forward.
Tuesday, September 24th marked the 7th Annual National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) which encourages citizens to register for the first time or update their voter registration. To celebrate, the Millennial Action Project partnered with members of the State Future Caucus Network (SFCN) as part of a social media campaign and hosted events to engage with potential new voters in their districts. This year, NVRD broke an “off-year” record by registering or updating the voter registration of 400,000 citizens nationwide.
On Thursday, September 19th the Millennial Action Project convened members of the Congressional Future Caucus and leading stakeholders from academia, industry, and government to discuss the global rise of artificial intelligence. Over dinner, attendees discussed the state of domestic AI policy, the progress of computing advancements, the persistent need for human capital, and the debate around data regulation. Throughout the evening we heard encouraging consensus from most parties involved who agreed broadly on the transformational nature of this technology and the need for more urgent U.S. leadership.
The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network will be hosting Wisconsin Future Caucus Co-Chairs Rep. Adam Neylon and Rep. Amanda Stuck on Sept. 18th for YPs Engage: Making Millennial Voices Heard Across Party Lines. This panel discussion will center on how young professionals can lead and affect change in their communities.
On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, MAP’s State Caucus Network Director Cherisse Eatmon attended a bill signing in Salem, Oregon with Oregon’s State Treasurer Tobias Read and two Oregon Future Caucus members, Representative Julie Fahey and Representative Jack Zika. The Educational Savings Credit was signed into law by Governor Kate Brown and allows families to receive an income tax credit up to $300 for contributions to a college savings plan
From August 2-4, MAP hosted its 3rd Annual Future Summit for state legislators in Nashville, TN. The Future Summit brought together a bipartisan group of young lawmakers from across the country for a weekend of connection, innovation, and collaboration on next generation policies affecting young people across the country.
On January 12th, 2019, MAP and the Mississippi Future Caucus hosted students from seven colleges and universities throughout Mississippi to discuss voting on college campuses and civic engagement.
MAP, in partnership with the Brennan Center for Justice and Quorum, hosted “States of Democracy”– A conversation about state-based approaches to making government more functional, accountable, and transparent.
On November 13th, MAP partnered with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, WUWM 89.7 FM - Milwaukee's NPR, and the Zeidler Center for Public Discussion to host ‘You Voted- Now What?' a free, community event featuring a panel conversation and community discussion circles.
On August 16th, Millennial Action Project partnered with The Embassy Row Hotel and the Passport Program for a Summer Send-Off happy hour. The celebration of MAP’s exciting summer was held on the hotel’s picturesque rooftop bar, complete with beautiful views of downtown D.C and the monuments.
