In January, the YMCA Michigan Youth in Government hosted a special showing and guided discussion of the documentary film featuring Millennial Action Project (MAP), The Reunited States. MAP’s very own Layla Zaidane and CFC member Congressman Peter Meijer were special guests, giving virtual remarks at the event!

On January 27th, Millennial Action Project and the Millennial Action Staff Association (MASA) held the first Millennial Mondays lunch of 2020. Millennial Mondays is a lunch series that invites staffers from both parties to network, socialize, and share information on the latest bills that they have been working on. This gives them a chance to build interest and create the coalitions needed to push legislation forward.
On December 10th, the Millennial Action Project partnered with Congressional Future Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH-16) to host a roundtable discussion on combating child exploitation imagery online. The roundtable included a panel of experts and advocates engaged with this issue from various perspectives, including nonprofit advocates, law enforcement, and technologists.
On Thursday, September 19th the Millennial Action Project convened members of the Congressional Future Caucus and leading stakeholders from academia, industry, and government to discuss the global rise of artificial intelligence. Over dinner, attendees discussed the state of domestic AI policy, the progress of computing advancements, the persistent need for human capital, and the debate around data regulation. Throughout the evening we heard encouraging consensus from most parties involved who agreed broadly on the transformational nature of this technology and the need for more urgent U.S. leadership.
On August 12, MAP partnered with Brookings Institution, Pew Research Center, and Frameworks Institute for a special edition of our Millennial Mondays Lunch Series.
On Wednesday, February 27th, MAP partnered with the Consumer Technology Association, Uber, and Yelp to host the Congressional Future Caucus Kickoff at the CTA Innovation House on the Hill.
As a growing number of millennials pursue careers in the gig economy, how will the nature of work, benefits, and education change? That’s the question MAP’s President Steven Olikara addressed on Capitol Hill at the House Small Business Committee’s June 6th “Millennials and the Gig Economy” hearing.
Earlier this year, MAP launched a monthly E Pluribus Unum lunch series for staffers from Congressional Future Caucus members' offices to convene and collaborate on bipartisan policy ideas. Unlike a typical staff lunch, the E Pluribus Unum series is a real exchange of ideas and legislation from both across the caucus and across the aisle.
On March 1, MAP co-hosted a panel, “Millennial Voters in 2018 & Beyond,” with Tufts University’s Tisch College of Civic Life to discuss the most impactful ways to reach young people. Despite being the largest generation eligible to vote, Millennials voter turnout rates remain low as disengagement from civic life continues to increase.
