AUSTIN, TX— On Monday, February 27th, young policymakers from across Texas will join together to discuss governing in the 21st century. The panel will approach the most pressing issues facing millennials, the largest generation. The nonpartisan panel is being convened by the Young Texans Legislative Caucus (YTLC), chaired by Representative Eric Johnson, and the Millennial Action Project, a national movement of young elected officials breaking through partisan gridlock to reestablish political cooperation.
The panel will feature young elected officials as well as Millennial Action Project’s State Future Caucus Director, Cherisse Eatmon.

Young Bipartisan Legislators Join Forces To Overcome America’s Crippling Polarization, Millennial Action Project Adds 15th State Legislature To National Movement
LINCOLN, N.E. — Next Generation Nebraska, a bipartisan group of state legislators under age 40, announced today they are joining the Millennial Action Project’s national movement of politically diverse young elected officials forging common ground to address issues impacting young people. Next Generation Nebraska will focus on policies that will work to retain and attract Millennials to the state and is the 15th state to officially join the Millennial Action Project.
Millennial Action Project (MAP) works directly with top young policymakers on both a national and state level to spur bipartisan legislation and innovative policy solutions. Other MAP states include ones as diverse as Texas, California, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, in addition to the Congressional Future Caucus.
Next Generation Nebraska will become a part of this nationally recognized group of legislators serving on the front lines of creating a more constructive governing environment. These policymakers convene to exchange ideas and best practices, and highlight how millennial leaders are revitalizing our democracy.
Led by Senator Adam Morfeld (D-District 46) and Senator Brett Lindstrom (R-District 18), Next Generation Nebraska convened nearly a dozen legislators this morning to discuss issues impacting the young people across the state, support policies that young Nebraskans care about, and to particularly focus on recruitment and retention.
“I am excited about the partnership between Next Generation Nebraska and the Millennial Action Project," said Morfeld. “The very future of our state and country depends on the success of these efforts that support young leaders who may differ in ideology but work hard to find common ground to solve the issues that impact young Nebraskans.”
“Nebraska is at the forefront of up and coming industries that are attractive to young professionals," said Lindstrom. “The growth of our state depends on keeping and attracting young talent in these expanding industries such as our tech community. I am looking forward to partnering with Millennial Action Project to generate policies that promote economic growth for Nebraska.”
