"A group of state lawmakers is aiming to knock down party barriers with help from the future. Today, democrats and republicans introduced the new "future caucus" made up of 15 elected officials -- most under the age of 40. The goal is to better connect with millennials, who legislators say want to engage with their politicians directly.
'They used to have this perception that elected officials did not have time to engage with the constituents. And we have proven that wrong,' said Assemblywoman Ling Ling Chang (R-Diamond Bar), co-chair of the California Future Caucus.
The members of the state's new future caucus will meet in the coming weeks to discuss the caucus' goals for the upcoming 2016 legislative year."
