MILLENNIAL ACTION PROJECT HOSTS CROSS-PARTISAN NATIONAL WEEK OF ACTION

Org mobilizes nationwide movement for young people – including young elected officials – to work across partisan lines to solve problems.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— This week, the Millennial Action Project (MAP) is hosting its National Week of Action – a week of mobilizing young people from all corners of the country – in Congress, in state legislatures, and at the grassroots level – to join together and showcase examples of good governance, and build a new narrative around what effective collaboration looks like.

As a part of the week, Millennial Action Project has taken major steps forward in this goal. On Monday, they released the most comprehensive list of bipartisan legislation from the youngest newly elected members of the 118th Congress. The report is available here.

“I welcome all of the new electeds to this week of action,” said Congressman Blake Moore (R-UT). “Never before are the decisions that we make today going to impact the younger generations more than in our history. That’s why we have to be at the table, because it's our future on the line. We have to find these bipartisan solutions so they are lasting.”

“It’s incredibly important for us to have young people at the table,” said Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (D-CA). “You don’t have to be older to make a difference. You don’t have to wait. We need you, we need your voice. We have incredible challenges in our country right now, and we are going to need everyone working together to be able to do that.”

“This week, we are seeing young people step up and take action to solve the problems facing our country,” said Layla Zaidane, President & CEO of MAP. “By collaborating across the political spectrum on things that matter to young people and their communities, the MAP Future Caucus network is playing a vital role in restoring the public’s faith that despite our differences, we can solve problems.”

On the schedule for the week includes a launch of a new Future Caucus in the state of Delaware – becoming the 32nd state in the nationwide caucus network. A Future Caucus is a bipartisan caucus of young lawmakers who commit to work together on policy issues that impact the younger generations. There will also be new leadership announcements in several states, professional development opportunities for the young legislators, and a national conversation on Gen Z, Millennials, and the Future of Politics hosted via Twitter. The week wraps up on Friday, March 31st.
