Reed Howard

VICE PRESIDENT, STRATEGY & PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Reed is the Vice President of Strategy and Public Affairs for Millennial Action Project (MAP), the largest bipartisan organization of young lawmakers in the United States. He provides leadership and oversight of the organization’s overall strategy, public relations, policy agenda, and partnerships. He is also a minister-in-residence at Georgetown University and a former local elected official.

Reed served as a political and legislative advisor in the Virginia state senate and was a campaign manager for multiple state and local races. He has provided public affairs consulting for leaders at Harvard Medical School, the largest jail in the Commonwealth of Virginia, churches, and purpose-driven nonprofits. In 2020, he worked with Joe Biden’s presidential campaign to reach Republican voters. Before arriving at Millennial Action Project, he led communications at Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service at the McCourt School of Public Policy.

He has been a featured speaker at conferences hosted by the Niskanen Center, The Bulwark, The Hill, George Washington University’s School of Political Management, and the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress. His leadership has been recognized by the American Enterprise Institute, Emory University’s Center for Innovation, Georgetown University’s Social Innovation and Public Service Fund, and the District of Columbia government.

Reed has a Master of Divinity with a focus on ethics and moral leadership from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Culture and Politics from Georgetown University.
