On February 15, the Millennial Action Project convened a group of millennial California elected officials and over 100 student attendees to kickoff the California YMCA Youth and Government 70th Model Legislature and Court program.
Sen. Barefoot, Rep. Beasley, Sen. Chaudhuri, and Rep. Hall convened in Raleigh to announce the creation of the North Carolina Future Caucus, comprised of General Assembly members 45 and under.
Representatives Christopher England (D-70) and Kyle South (R-16) announced the creation of the bipartisan Alabama State Future Caucus, a brand-new caucus comprised of state legislators under age 40. The caucus will focus on issues that these millennials care about, including student debt and clean energy.
Led by State Senators Anitere Flores (R) and Lauren Book (D) alongside State Representatives Sean Shaw (D) and Holly Raschein (R), the bicameral and bipartisan Florida Future Caucus joins the national effort to encourage young legislators to collaborate across the aisle and focus on issues relevant to millennials.
On Wednesday, March 29th, over a dozen young state legislators and MAP convened to launch the Indiana Future Caucus. Representatives Dan Forestal (D-100) and David Ober (R-82) announced the creation of the bipartisan caucus comprised of state legislators under age 40. This new caucus will be a voice for millennial Hoosiers, who make up more than a quarter of state’s total population.
A bipartisan cohort of Georgia’s youngest legislators recently announced the creation of the Georgia Future Caucus. The Caucus, co-chaired by Representative Michael Caldwell (R -Woodstock) and Representative Dar’shun Kendrick (D - Lithonia), aims to pass future-focused legislation on the issues affecting young Georgians - and do so across party lines.
On Tuesday, March 7th, Representatives Jeramey Anderson (D) and Toby Barker (R) announced the creation of the Mississippi Future Caucus, a bipartisan group of state legislators under age 40. In doing so, they join the Millennial Action Project’s national movement of young elected officials breaking through partisan gridlock to reestablish political cooperation and create meaningful progress through government institutions.
The California Millennial Caucus hosts a press conference to announce new leadership, as well as new initiatives for 2017. The Caucus will be led by Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, and Assemblyman Ian Calderon.
