A group of state lawmakers under age 40 has formed a caucus to work on issues of concern to millennials.The formation of the Maine State Future Caucus, aligned with the national millennial action project, was announced Wednesday at a State House news conference.
Only a fraction of Maine's 186 legislators are under the age of 40, but they are hoping to encourage more young people to join them.That is one of the goals of the new Maine Future Caucus, which debuted at the Maine State House Wednesday morning.
Today, Maine House Majority Leader Erin Herbig (D-97) and Representative Matt Pouliot (R-86) announced the creation of the bipartisan Maine State Future Caucus, a brand-new caucus comprised of around 25 state legislators under age 40. With the launch, Maine becomes the 24th state to join Millennial Action Project’s national State Future Caucus Network.
